Established in 1995, Big Girls Paradise parties are growing in size and popularity. There are clubs all over the UK, dating website and chat rooms - all celebrating the beauty of Big Girls and the men who adore them.
It's come as no surprise that Big Girls Paradise have proven such a hit. With recent statistics showing that one in five Britons are overweight or obese, now more than ever, we need places like these where plus size women (and men) feel comfortable, confident and sexy.
The Mayfair club in London hosts a party every fortnight. You get a warm welcome from plus size 'bunnies' at the door and are led to dancefloor where Big Girls wear whatever they want and most importantly spin their curves with no disapproving looks to worry about.
The idea came from Lida Koch, herself a size 24, who found a business opportunity in recent demand for Big Girls parties. "The whole thing started out as a hobby, and than it just got really big - it's a serious business now."
There is no lack of men who frequent the club. And especially, there is no lack of slim men frequenting the club. Calling themselves Fat Admirers or FAs (or Chubby Chasers), they chase women for their curvier looks and welcome the opportunity to find what their tastes run for - larger the better.
